Superior Log Home Building Material

We use Douglas Fir and Hemlock for our Traditional and Rustic log profiles. Douglas Fir is the most plentiful of all North American softwood species and it and Hemlock are actually dimensionally stable and have the ability to season well in position, which virtually eliminates twisting of timbers.

We use Eastern White Pine for our DovLoc log profile. Eastern White Pine is considered the premier eastern wood for log home construction. With a tight grain and few knots, this beautiful wood is easy to dry and maintain.

Our log walls are graded and inspected according to Timber Products Inspections Inc. (TPI) standards to ensure the finest quality and structural integrity.

Other Materials
We don’t stop with the logs. Other key building components include Jeld-Wen premium aluminum-clad windows and patio doors – each considered among the best in their class. In fact, all structural materials, from floor joists to roof structure, are specified by an engineer who certifies the plans for Appalachian Log & Timber home. This certification ensures that your home will be as safe and sound as it is beautiful.
