Finally, the 30# roofing felt is placed over the OSB. This is where the Appalachian crew stops. The logs are up, the roof is on to final felt, the door and window jams are installed and the rough opening is cut into the upper window or door logs. (Your contractor may have to trim the bottom of the window opening.) Even if you purchased gable end or porch materials or doors and windows from Appalachian Log Homes, our crews do not install them.
